Switched
Access Tariff Databases
Vero has developed the only Switched Access Tariff
- Variable Composite databases in the market.
It became apparent that a source for accurate tariff rates and a
consistent rate methodology was absent from the Telecommunications
tariff market. Tariff information is needed by the carrier to
properly audit Switched Access invoices during vendor billing
reconciliation, to generate accurate accruals, and for network planning
and routing optimization purposes. Beyond those purposes, a
Composite Rate view of tariff costs is necessary to compare a carrier's
costs of delivering traffic on-net versus off-net. In fact,
a composite view of tariff rates is the only way
to make the 'Build vs. Buy' decision regarding on-net versus off-net
traffic delivery and whether it makes economic sense to deploy a trunk
into the network, etc.
Vero developed SWAT - VC (Switched Access
Terminating - Variable Composite) and SWAO - VC (Switched Access
Originating - Variable Composite) databases to address these market
needs. Before Vero's Variable Composite databases, such
critical
tariff information was available only from fragmented sources that
typically suffered from obsolescence and inaccuracies. The
SWAT-VC and SWAO - VC databases resolve this issue by providing
accurate and up-to-date tariff rate information. The result
is
that the client has access to real cost information that reflects their
true operating environment.
Currently, SWAT-VC and SWAO - VC
calculate composite rates for Access Tandem and Direct End Office Trunk
connections for over 38,000 switched access routes derived from over
2,600 tariffs which consist of over 53,000 individual variable rate
elements. This data is broken down into Terminating and
Originating rates by Jurisdiction (InterState vs. IntraState), and is
available as a direct import into the Acuitè tool suite. An optional
Graphical User Interface is available to facilitate viewing these
composite rates and researching the underlying variable rate elements
that make up the composite rate. Vero offers the terminating
and
originating databases as well as the Graphical User Interface separately.
Vero's variable rate element cost repository is
industry leading
and provides an accurate centralized data base of detailed variable
rate elements and variable composite costs for Access Tandems and DEOT
routes. Clients only need to deal with a single vendor, Vero Systems,
to receive the largest coverage of variable rate element cost. This
data will drive a deeper understanding of network switched access costs
which will result in improved management of product margins.
