Wholesale Price Modeling and Rate Generation
A key component of Margin Management is aligning pricing with the underlying cost structure of the network. AcuPrice is the module in the Acuité suite that provides carriers with a sophisticated tool for establishing price plans for their wholesale customers.
AcuPrice leverages the carrier’s actual cost data from AcuCDR and
AcuRate, allowing the carrier pricing analyst to construct a variety of
pricing scenarios based on cost, capacity, traffic, tariff rates, and
other key information. AcuPrice provides the flexibility to
rapidly devise (and revise) multiple pricing models and rate sheets
– an important tool for insuring wholesale customer contracts
provide target margins. AcuPrice is designed to focus on the
pricing (revenue) variable of the margin equation as opposed to
focusing on cost controls. It enables telcos to leverage highly
granular CDR information with its two main components – the Price
Plan Analysis Tool and Wholesale Customer Rate Sheet.
AcuPrice’s Price Plan Analysis Tool
provides a graphical interface for analysts to model costs or
‘rack rates’ at the NPA-NXX level by incorporating CDR data
on costs, jurisdiction, traffic, and vendor distribution. Its
flexibility enables easy plug-and-play of such dynamics as minutes of
use, distribution of minutes, and other cost and capacity
parameters. With the tool, pricing analysts construct models that
incorporate a comprehensive set of cost dynamics that are germane to
pricing. The tool generates reports that are made available to
the Wholesale Customer Rate Sheet for margin analysis and customer rate
sheet generation.
AcuPrice’s Wholesale Customer Rate Sheet
feature enables sales people and financial analysts to fine-tune
prospective pricing models, beginning with an easy-to-use generic rate
plan template. It is an invaluable tool for generating multiple
scenarios for use in negotiations with a wholesale customer. The
Rate Sheet allows customization for target margins, jurisdiction
(InterState and IntraState), product, and supports a variety of tiered
pricing plans.
Deployed either as a standalone tool or as a module in a broader deployment of
Vero’s Acuité software, AcuPrice enables carriers to
rapidly and accurately respond to changing business conditions and
provides a foundation for driving pricing sophistication to the next
level.
